Rejuvenate your dental health with the teeth cleaning in Bali

We get it. You don’t want to waste time at the dentist when you’re on holiday. However, increasingly, holidaymakers are trading an hour or two for a money-saving check-up and professional teeth cleaning. The price Bali’s dentists charge is considerably lower than at home, so you will be saving money too–hence if you have been neglecting your dental care lately, it's a good reason to get back on track, and bring a bit of wellness into your getaway to Bali.

Why Get Teeth Cleaning at the Dentist?

Even though you may look after your teeth well by cleaning them regularly and flossing, it generally isn’t enough. Bacteria and tartar build up, and you need the helping hand of a dentist (or dental hygienist) to remove it.

Most people are generally apprehensive about teeth cleanings because the annoying scraping and equipment noises tend to make it feel much worse than it actually is. For most people, it is merely uncomfortable rather than painful, but knowing what is actually happening is likely to allay any fears you have.

Teeth Cleaning Procedure

Your mouth will be examined first to check around the teeth and gums for any problems. Your dentist may discuss further recommended treatments; for example, if you have gum inflammation, which may be the first sign of gum disease, or if you have signs of decay on the teeth you may require a filling.

Your professional teeth cleaning treatment may include:

Plaque and tartar removal: tartar is hardened plaque–the yellow deposits at the back of the teeth, around the gum line and between the teeth. It is scraped off using manual scrapers.

Cleaning with a gritty toothpaste: once all the plaque and tartar are removed, a high-powered electric toothbrush is used to remove any deposits left behind and provide your teeth with a deep clean due to the grit which really scrubs the teeth.

Flossing: although you may floss at home, you cannot beat someone else doing it–especially an expert. The dentist can get deeper between and behind your teeth in those spots you can’t see or reach.

Rinse: The rinse gets rid of any debris and usually contains fluoride to strengthen teeth.

Fluoride Treatment: applied last and helps to protect your teeth from cavities until your next visit.
