Unless your clinic offers “ immediate loading implants,” which are typically more expensive and not suitable for all patients, your treatment will require two separate trips to Hungary of around four months apart. 

For each trip, plan to stay in Mosonmagyaróvár (or the nearby area) for three to five days.

While the Hungarian capital of Budapest might be known by some as the “World Capital of Dentistry,” this small border town of just 35,000 residents is home to the highest concentration of clinics in the country. 

This is in part thanks to the lower prices on offer but also its convenient location, under an hour away from Vienna to the west and just over 30 minutes from Bratislava to the north.

How Do I Get to Mosonmagyaróvár?

The town is situated on the main motorway linking Budapest and Vienna, and a train station also connects these two cities with the rest of Europe.

Can I Fly to Mosonmagyaróvár?

Mosonmagyaróvár is easy to reach by air, with two major international airports less than an hour away. Budapest’s international airport is a little further, although flying into the country’s airport may be a more convenient option as there would be no need to cross any international borders on the way to Mosonmagyaróvár.

The three major international airports in the region are listed below, with respective travel times:

• Bratislava International Airport—35 min (50 km) via M15 and E65/E75
• Vienna International Airport—1 hr (70 km) via A4
• Budapest International Airport—1 hr 40 min (193 km) via M1 

Direct flights are currently available from London (Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton), Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, Luton, Birmingham and Dublin to these airports.

How Much Do Flights Cost?

From the UK, return tickets to Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest are generally all at the same price, between EUR 50-100.

Do expect to pay a little more if flying with checked-in luggage, or when travelling with a national carrier like British Airways and Austrian Airlines.
