About Rio Grande Dental

Rio Grande Dental welcomes local families and dental travelers in Ciudad Juárez, just over the border from El Paso, Texas.

Cross-Border Dentistry with Advanced Restorative Options

Guided by Dr. Jessica Nitardy, the clinic reports having treated more than 8,000 patients since opening and brings together specialists covering implants, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.

Technology highlights include CEREC® same-day crowns and veneers, in-office power whitening, and comfort options like nitrous oxide.

Why Patients Choose This Clinic

  • Wide treatment range: Single-tooth to full-arch implant solutions, crowns and veneers, root canals, dentures, extractions, fillings, and whitening.
  • Time-saving technology: CEREC® chairside design and fabrication for many crowns and veneers, which can be useful for short trips.
  • Experience and credentials: The team is experienced in implant, endodontic, and periodontal procedures; the clinic notes memberships with the ADA and ICOI.
  • Border convenience: The clinic is about 20 minutes from El Paso International Airport (ELP) to the border, followed by a short onward trip to the clinic.

Popular Treatments

Implants and Full-Arch Options

Options include standard titanium implants, implant plus abutment and crown bundles, sinus lifts, bone grafts, snap-on overdentures supported by 2–8 implants, and full-arch bridges on multiple implants.

Crowns and Veneers

The clinic offers porcelain or ceramic, zirconia, and porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, also known as PFM crowns. Temporary restorations, inlays, onlays, and CEREC® same-day options are available when indicated.

Endodontics

Endodontics includes root canal treatment for anterior teeth, premolars, and molars, with post, core, and crown sequencing when needed.

Dentures

Denture options include full dentures, immediate or healing dentures, partial dentures with acrylic, flexible, or metal frames, and flippers.

General and Cosmetic Dentistry

Services include exams, composite fillings, deep cleaning, extractions, laser whitening, and take-home whitening kits.

Diagnostics and Comfort Options

Diagnostics include panoramic and CT or 3D imaging as indicated. Comfort options include nitrous oxide and IV sedation with an anesthesiologist for suitable cases.

Patient Experience

Visits typically begin with a consultation and indicated imaging, followed by side-by-side options, timelines, and a written estimate. Sharing recent x-rays or CT scans in advance helps the team pre-reserve lab or surgical time. This can often compress sequences like root canal and crown treatment or multi-unit implants into fewer, longer appointments that fit your travel window.

Getting There

Fly to El Paso International Airport (ELP). Plan about 20–25 minutes from the airport to the border, plus crossing time.

Rideshares and taxis on both sides of the border are common. After booking, you will receive the GPS pin, the recommended port of entry, easy approach roads, and nearby drop-off or parking tips.

How to Book

Your Dental Departures advisor can confirm chair availability, provide a locked-in written estimate, and coordinate back-to-back appointments around your flights free of charge.

FAQs

What warranties or guarantees does the clinic provide?

Warranties are typically procedure-specific and most often cover lab-made restorations, such as crowns, veneers, bridges, and dentures, and, when stated, implant components for a set period. To keep coverage valid, follow written aftercare, attend recommended maintenance checks, and use protective devices, such as a night guard, if prescribed. Before treatment begins, Dental Departures will share the clinic’s current written warranty for your plan, including what is covered, the duration, exclusions, and how repair or replacement is handled.

Where is the clinic and how do I get there?

Rio Grande Dental is in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, just across from El Paso, Texas. From El Paso International Airport (ELP), it is generally about 20–25 minutes to the border plus crossing time, then a short rideshare or taxi trip to the clinic. Once booked, Dental Departures will send the GPS pin, the recommended port of entry, simple approach streets, and the best drop-off or parking options.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Clinics serving international patients commonly accept cash and major credit or debit cards; some larger plans may allow bank transfers. Because accepted card brands, processor fees, and potential cash-discount policies can change, your Dental Departures advisor will confirm the exact options for your dates and whether a deposit is needed to reserve lab or surgical time.

What languages are spoken at the clinic?

Spanish is the local language, and English assistance can be arranged. Tell Dental Departures your preference when booking, and English-assisted appointments with bilingual consent and aftercare can be scheduled so everything is clear and comfortable.

How long does a root canal with a crown take?

A straightforward root canal is often organized over 1–3 days, depending on the tooth. If a post, core, and permanent crown are included, allow about 3–5 days total to cover clinical steps and lab or CEREC® fabrication. Your itinerary will map each step and include a review visit before you fly home.

Can I finish an implant and crown in one trip?

Most single-tooth implant plans are two-stage. Visit one includes diagnostics and implant placement, plus any grafting or sinus lift if needed. Healing then takes place during osseointegration, which is when the implant bonds with the jawbone. Visit two includes the abutment and final crown, with a few days allowed for lab work. Your coordinator will align visits to your flights and discuss temporary options during healing.

Do you offer same-day diagnostics and a written plan?

With notice, the clinic can arrange an exam and indicated x-rays the same day, with CT or 3D imaging via partner imaging when required. The clinic can then provide a same-day written estimate. Sharing recent images and medical and dental history in advance speeds planning and may reduce total visits.
