Penang is a Malaysian state situated on the northwestern coast of the Malay Peninsular. It is a well-developed region comprising two parts: Penang Island and Seberang Perai.

The capital of Penang Island is George Town, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Melaka and Georgetown show the historical and cultural influence of the trading ports linking East and West. The north coast is also endowed with beautiful beaches. Batu Ferringhi is famous for its sandy beaches, a perfect place to relax while undergoing treatment.

The country has a tropical climate with a temperature ranging from 22 C to 30 C and is a popular holiday destination.

What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

The All-on-4® treatment concept replaces all of the teeth in the upper, lower or both jaws, providing a more stable and comfortable solution to traditional dentures.

The technique uses four implants that are inserted into the jawbone. An immediate loading denture can be fitted on the same day of the surgery, followed by the attachment of a permanent arch after approximately six months.

What Are Some of the Benefits of this Treatment?

  • This technique may eliminate the need for additional procedures like bone grafts thanks to the unique placement and length of the implants.
  • Instead of using six to eight implants per jaw, only four implants are used, thus saving time and reducing discomfort.
  • The surgery only takes one session to complete, including extractions of any remaining teeth.
  • Patients can leave on the same day with a provisional (temporary) set of teeth attached.
  • The final restoration looks and feels like your original pearly whites, with functionality increased to around 90%.

What Does the Treatment Process Involve?

The process begins with a consultation with your dentist where a complete examination of your dental condition will be performed. Diagnostic tests such as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) are also taken. A treatment plan will be based on the examination.

The surgical procedure sees any remaining teeth removed before the four dental implants are attached. Using joining abutments and coping cylinders, an immediate loading denture can then be attached.

After the healing period of around six months, which allows the gums to heal and the implants to fuse with the bone (osseointegration), you’ll return to the clinic Penang for the placement of the permanent fixed bridge. This is achieved simply by unscrewing the previous prosthesis.

Your dentist will give you instructions on how to take care of your “new teeth.” Observe proper oral hygiene and get professional teeth cleaning to maintain achieve health. With proper care, the “new teeth” can last for many years.

How Much Does Treatment Cost in Penang?

The cost of the All-on-4® treatment concept varies depending on the type of material you choose, the expertise of the dentist and other factors.

Prices in Penang start at around AUD $8,200 (USD $6,000 UK £4,155; Euros €9,800) compared to AUD $34,000 in Australia (USD $26,000: UK £19,700; Euros €23,541).
