Mosonmagyaróvár is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Hungary, approximately two hours from the capital of Budapest.

How Do I Get to Mosonmagyaróvár?

By road (private car, rental car, taxi, Uber, bus) from: 

• Vienna (Austria): 1 hr 14 min (86.6 km) via A4

• Bratislava (Slovakia): 34 min (44.9 km) via M15 and E65/E75

• Budapest (Hungary): 1 hr 44 min (162.1 km) via M1

By train:

Mosonmagyaróvár has a train station on the main route from Budapest to Vienna; from here, the rest of Europe can be accessed with an Interrail Pass.

Note: The train from Bratislava to Mosonmagyaróvár stops in Vienna first; there is no direct rail service into Hungary from this part of Slovakia. 

By air:

• The nearest airport is in Bratislava, approximately 35 minutes away by road.

• Cheap flights can also be found to Vienna’s international airport (1 hour).

• To negate the need to travel across the Hungarian land border, flying into Budapest might be the best option.

How Much Do Flights Cost?

The cheapest way to reach Mosonmagyaróvár would be to fly from London to either Bratislava or Vienna, with tickets costing as little as EUR 20 one-way.

Prices may be a little higher when flying from outside of London or with national carriers, like British Airways.
