The time you need to spend in Tbilisi for treatment will depend on the extent of your treatment, the number of appointments required and whether your chosen clinic has an in-house lab and specialised equipment for manufacturing prosthetics, like veneers or crowns.

As a rough guide:

• Everyday dentistry, like fillings and teeth whitening, will only take an hour or two (one appointment).

• Dental restorations and custom cosmetic dentistry, like crowns and veneers, will take at least two appointments, either on the same day or a few days apart.

• Dental implant treatment often requires two separate trips to Tbilisi as the gums will need around four months to heal following the initial surgery.

The borders of Northern Armenia and Azerbaijan are around 100km from Tbilisi, while Turkey sits a little further to the west, with Russia to the north.

Most routes from the UK do involve a short change in Turkey or other cities, with the total journey time (including one stop) taking around seven hours.
